Julia Ann (Brown) Spencer Carr, 84, of Burke Road in Sutton, Vt. passed away peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2018, at her home.

Julia was born in Lyndon, Vt. on July 2, 1934, to Howard and Hortense (Ducham) Brown.  She was raised and educated in Lyndon graduating from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 1952.  In 1953, Julia married Guy Lucien Spencer. In 1957 they moved to Sutton.  They shared 29 years together until Guy’s death in 1982.  Julia worked at many different jobs over the years including for Henschel Shoe in Littleton, NH. Julia again found love marrying Francis W. Carr in 1988.  They shared 13 years together until his death in 2001. Julia enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and kept many neighbors supplied in homemade donuts.

Julia is survived by her children: Judith Smith and husband, Michael, of Sutton, Debra Spencer-Finley and husband, Wayne, of Thomasville, NC, Jeff Spencer and wife, Cheddie, of the Philippines, Tracie Madison and husband, Ken, of Talmadge, ME, Scott Spencer and wife, Stacy, of Sutton, Andrew Spencer and companion, MaryEllen Orton, of Glover, VT, Stacy Kirkus and husband, Jason, of Lexington, NC, and Sharon and husband, Carl Emerson, of Walden, VT; a special great-grandson: Reginald Guertin, many grand and great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband: Guy “Pat” Spencer; her second husband: Francis Carr; two children: Melinda Spencer in 1957 and Howard Spencer in 2011; and siblings: Ruth Wilkins, Edward Brown, and Lucille Lavaly.

A Graveside Service will take place at 11AM Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Lyndon Center Cemetery in Lyndonville, VT. There will be no public Calling Hours.

Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Darling Inn Meal Site in Julia’s name.
