As of July 1, 2016 Guibord & Sayles Funeral Homes are under the ownership of Stephen & Helen Robertson.
Stephen Robertson is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in both Vermont and New Hampshire. He had been employed at Newton Bartlett Funeral Home in Newport NH until joining Sayles Funeral Home/Guibord Funeral Home in June 2015. He married Helen Lynch of Colebrook in 1990. In summer of 2016 the Robertsons moved into the living quarters above the Sayles Funeral Home with the youngest four of their eight children.
Rodney And Karen Sayles owned Sayles Funeral homes from 1978 until 2016. They acquired Guibord Funeral Home circa 1995. Stephen and Helen are grateful for Rodney's continued involvement as they get to know the community he faithfully served.
Sayles Funeral Home is located at 525 Summer St. in St. Johnsbury. The funeral home was renovated in the 1980s to handle large gatherings, yet the building maintains its warm Victorian charm and homey atmosphere.
Renovations to the Guibord Funeral Home (15 Main St. in Lyndonville) in the late 1990’s have resulted in a spacious and accommodating funeral home facility capable of comfortably seating over a hundred attendees. The original stained glass windows have been enhanced with windows done by local artist Elizabeth Robbins.
Don Pearsons took over The Woods & Treffren Funeral Home circa 1970 and operated it as Pearsons Funeral home until his death in 2004. In 2018, Stephen and Helen Robertson purchased the Pearsons name and now operate as Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home on Main St. in Lyndonville.
Both funeral homes are appointed with artwork done by Roderick Wells depicting scenes recognizable by the local towns we serve.
We salute longtime Guibord Funeral Homes associates Ernie and Beverly Coolbeth who both passed away within four months of each other in late 2015 and early 2016. As well as Tom Barrett who passed in 2016. They will all be missed.
